My name is Nici Holt Cline. I am a fourth generation Montanan raising kids, vegetables and the roof.

I had a gardening and graphic design business called dig this chick several years ago. I put it on hold to pursue my career at my local art museum. I like to write and take photos so I started this blog to scratch my dig-this-chick itch.

At first, my blog only chronicled my gardening and running. I was headed to grad school in Chicago. And then, surprisingly, I was pregnant. Margot Bea was born in December 2007 and being a mama has exceeded any expectation I ever had about parenthood or life in general. Grad school on hold, I jumped into my arts advocacy work, writing, crafting, mothering, running, taking photos and gardening right here in western Montana. And this online space grew with my family.

Ruby Jane was born in November 2009. When she arrived, I left my museum work of seven years. I now work from home (I also write at mamalode.com and make clothes) and have the most fun with my creative, nutty kids.
